Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk Groundbreaking Ceremony

Construction is underway at The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk. President Jim Giuliano and Project Executive Mike Small were present for last week's groundbreaking ceremony, where staff and dignitaries from the City of Norwalk, the Aquarium, and state and federal government came together to celebrate the commencement of the first significant renovation to the facility undertaken since 2001. Work includes the construction of a new 4D theater to replace the soon-to-be demolished IMAX theater and an upgraded seal exhibit featuring a 150,000 gallon tank, more than seven times the size of the former accommodations. These features date back to 1988 when the Aquarium first opened.
