Impressive progress is being made with the renovation of the Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk. As part of the first significant renovation to the facility since 2001, the existing six-story, IMAX screen and theater at the Aquarium will be demolished and replaced with a new, 169-seat state-of-the-art 4D theater.

In addition to the theater construction, the project includes a major upgrade to the seal exhibit, featuring a 150,000 gallon tank, more than seven times the size of the former accommodations. The seal habitat, which is currently half indoors and half outdoors, is scheduled to open in April 2021, and will be fully enclosed, protecting the seals and people from a nearby bridge construction project on the Aquarium campus.
