CSG, along with administrators from the Enfield School District, local officials and project partners, Gilbane Building Company and JCJ Architecture, celebrated the groundbreaking for the complete renovation of JFK Middle School in Enfield, CT on September 14. With an anticipated completion date of August 2022, this project will yield nearly 175,000 square feet of renovated space and add approximately 19,000 square feet of new construction to the school.

“CSG is honored to manage this monumental project that will benefit the entire Enfield community,” said Christopher Cykley, Vice President of CSG. “ JFK Middle School will not only be a state-of-the art learning facility for students, but it will become a beautiful gathering place for the community to enjoy.”

The facility will serve more than 1,200 students in grades six through eight, housing 36 general classrooms, 12 science rooms, and 10 special education classrooms. In addition, a dedicated space for STEM learning, called The Innovation Lab, will also be built. This area will provide unique opportunities for students to explore and learn disciplines such as robotics, design/modeling and materials science.

The new construction portion of the project includes a 975-seat auditorium, a 700-seat cafeteria, and public entry, allowing the school to be used for community events, preventing access to the entire school. The school grounds will also undergo a transformation that includes a new bus loop, parents loop and parking lot, designed to prevent students from crossing active traffic lanes. The athletic fields will also be renovated on the grounds. Click here to view a story done by The Reminder about the event. Thanks to our partner, J.
