Jim Giuliano Featured in Blueprint Magazine

June 26th, 2020

The following article in Blueprint Magazine details CSG's expansion and diversification over the recent years.

In 2007, Jim Giuliano took a position at the newly established construction division of Capitol Region Education Council (CREC) in Hartford, Connecticut, one of six regional education service centers in the state charged with providing high-quality, cost-effective services to school districts. The addition of Giuliano to CREC’s in-house team of board of education administrators brought invaluable hands-on construction expertise to the division, garnered through nearly two decades of experience working for construction management firms.

Giuliano and his team, which expanded during his tenure to include several current CSG employees, quickly became immersed in the specialized world of public school construction as they moved forward at a breakneck pace to implement an aggressive multi-million dollar, multi-year school construction program. Though direct interaction with educators in the district, and in part though osmosis, they learned the pedagogy of teaching and developed educational specifications for the design and construction of spaces that fit the teaching approach – all while balancing the traditional program management aspects of the work.

In 2014, Giuliano seized the opportunity to start Construction Solutions Group (CSG) – a consultancy that is exclusively focused on providing owner’s project management services. With a core competency in Connecticut public schools, CSG’s portfolio has diversified since its inception five years ago to include work for higher education, senior living, commercial and non-profit clients throughout New England.

Opportunities for expansion are knocking as the CSG team performs, delivers and demonstrates the value and advocacy of an owner’s representative to its clients. Though direct experience working for a RESC, Giuliano and his team have concept-to-completion insight on the K-12 school market – and more importantly, an appreciation of how to foster the critical connection between educators and the design and construction community. In the wake of the global coronavirus outbreak, CSG is proactively engaging its clients to understand the design and construction ramifications related to creating learning environments in the “new normal”.
