CSG Celebrates Five Years in Business

September 3rd, 2019

Five years ago today, Construction Solutions Group was born. For those of you that may not know the origins of our firm, we’d like to share the following highlights of our history in honor of this important milestone.

In September 2014, President Jim Giuliano left his position at Capitol Region Education Council (CREC) where he was managing over $400 million in construction, consisting of ten school improvement projects built over a seven year period throughout the Greater Hartford region. This unique “owner’s side” experience, paired with Jim’s background working for large construction management firms, inspired him to seize an opportunity to establish his own company - one that was exclusively focused on providing owner’s representation services.

CSG’s first contract, awarded shortly after starting the business, was to oversee a series of renovations at the Hartford Stage Company, successfully completed over the course of an aggressive three-month “off season” summer period. Shortly thereafter, CSG’s workload and staffing began ramping up considerably - taking on assignments for Goodwin College, the Town of East Windsor, the Town of Cromwell and the Town of Wallingford. Former colleagues from CREC, including Vice President Christopher Cykley and Chief Operating Officer Roger LaFleur, joined the firm, along with other project managers, assistant project managers and specialists. Several high-profile school projects were in full swing, including the $39 million LEED-Gold certified Charter Oak International Academy for the Town of West Hartford and the award-winning $103 million renovate-as-new Enfield High School project for the Town of Enfield. In the spring of 2017, CSG was awarded a $1.3 million program management contract for the City of Norwalk Board of Education’s five-year school facilities master plan, which includes over $170 million in new construction and facility renovations.

We are proud of the recent work that we have undertaken for repeat clients, including the William H. Hall High School addition in West Hartford (completed this summer) and the $78 million John F. Kennedy Middle School addition/renovation in Enfield (currently in design) as this is a direct reflection of our dedication to client service. We are proud of our recently constructed projects, including the Alvin and Beatrice Wood Human Services Facility for the Town of Bloomfield and the New Lebanon Elementary School for the Town of Greenwich as these facilities are now being enjoyed by residents of the community. We are proud of the important work we are doing to support the creation of affordable senior living options with West Hartford Fellowship Housing. We are proud of our recently awarded projects that we look forward forward to announcing with you on our soon to be unveiled, revamped company website.

We have an exceptional team of professionals and consulting partners known for a level of construction expertise and team chemistry that is hard to beat. We have a diverse portfolio of work completed for municipal, state, public and private K-12, higher education, healthcare, non-profit and commercial clients throughout Connecticut and southern New England. We have the drive and dedication to continue to deliver excellence in owner’s representation, program management and construction administration. As we take a moment to reflect on our accomplishments over the past five years, we look ahead with excitement and anticipation in the direction we’re working together to move our company in, and we thank you for following and supporting our firm over the years.
